Here we have a new pinball table available as DLC for Zen Pinball 2, based on the latest Marvel movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron. This table is full of the charm we’ve come to expect from Zen Studios, bursting with color, movie references and, most importantly, stuff to hit.

As with most pinball games nowadays, the real attraction lies in the mini-games, each of which is named after a member of the Avengers. These games pack a heavy punch with difficulty, and are sure to keep you going back for more. There are also a few other games that can be accessed by spelling out words like Ultron, or Assemble.

One feature that sets Age of Ultron apart from previous tables is the inclusion of a “prelude.” This starts the game off with a pre-selected mission and automatically deploys a second ball. However, if multi-ball straight out of the gate sounds stressful, never fear. Players can skip the prelude and begin directly with standard gameplay. Pinball can get a little monotonous, since each game begins the same way, but the prelude adds just enough spice to hold the player’s interest.

Another added bonus is the relatively large quantity of voice acting. Clips from all the Avengers, including Ultron himself, appear to be ripped straight from the movie commercials. Being able to hear Tony Stark or Captain America speaking familiar lines definitely goes above and beyond the average pinball game.

OVERALL

With the Ultron hype sweeping the globe, it’s hard not to get caught up in it all. The Zen Pinball 2 DLC offers plenty of Avengers action to satisfy fans, while still delivering a solid pinball game. If you’re excited about Avengers: Age of Ultron and love pinball, this won’t disappoint.
